Our board members and mentors

With more than 20 years’ experience, Caroline Gourlay is a prominent figure within the exhibitions industry and the Head of B2B Sales at one of the UK’s most successful event venues ExCeL London.

Her career began at leading organiser UBM (now known as Informa) where she worked as a Sales Executive in the interiors portfolio, before moving on to manage sales at International Confex – an event still highly successful today and hosted at ExCeL.

In 2010, she made the move from organiser-side to venue-side, joining the exhibitions team at ExCeL where she now manages a wide and diverse portfolio of B2B shows including the world’s leading EdTech show Bett, The London Vet Show and UK Black Business Week.

Caroline is renowned in the industry for her ability to work with UK, independent and international organisers to deliver market leading events, including peripatetic shows, as well as to help their growth aspirations.

A mum-of-two, Caroline enjoys spending time with her family in Suffolk when she’s not working and is a strong advocate of flexible hours. She’s also highly supportive of the progression of women within the events industry, so much so she was instrumental in ExCeL becoming the first venue in the UK to become members of Women in Exhibitions.
