Having fallen into exhibition and conference organising more than 25 years ago, Caroline initially worked for a privately owned publishing and events company for almost 20 years. This involved working on hundreds of trade shows throughout the world, developing and heading up a team of operations professionals, and managing events large and small. Generally responsible for all practical and onsite aspects of event requirements, for the last 7 years she has run her own company offering independent event operation support for companies including start-ups without their own event ops function. Bringing her years of experience to her clients has meant she can help with all operational aspects of the event including researching and appointing suppliers, negotiating venue contracts, defining exhibitor communication, making freight appointments, writing registration requirements, identifying security locations, specifying catering options and much more. Caroline enjoys taking on new projects, working with a range of clients around the world and being thrown in at the deep end when sometimes called to go on site and assist a team at short notice. Her excellent organisational skills and calm management approach can be relied upon to help with last minute difficulties or to support new and inexperienced operations colleagues. Her varied event knowledge together with her vast international experience enables her to advise with shows which might involve working with different cultures, time zones, foreign currencies and language challenges. Outside of working, she has been a volunteer in Scouting for almost 30 years. Since 2015 she has been involved in organising global Scouting Jamborees held in Japan, Iceland, the Netherlands, the USA and next year in South Korea. Caroline is a strong supporter of equal rights in all aspects of life.
