Our board members and mentors

I have over 25 years' experience in live media (with ITE Group and then Emap/i2i) working on most event formats across a range of industries in numerous countries, as well as 2 years spent in publishing and digital. This has involved launches, acquisitions, brand extensions and business development. In 2014 I moved from organiser to venue joining the exec team at the SEC as Director of Exhibitions. Building on an established portfolio of events, we have grown each year and now welcome over half a million visitors to a range of leading consumer and trade events. At the end of 2016 I also took responsibility for marketing, research and comms across the wider SEC group, a business that turns over '30m and welcomes more than 2 million visitors per year to events, conferences, sport and live entertainment. I joined the AEV board in 2014 and took over as Chair in September 2018. I chaired the EIA in 2019 and am currently a member of the Tourism Industry Council. In January 2018 I joined the board of QD Events ' Scotland's largest exhibition organiser, with a portfolio of 6 consumer shows welcoming over 200,000 visitors annually.
