Bio:

Annick O’Brien is the General Counsel at CybSafe, where she integrates legal strategy with cybersecurity and data protection. A qualified lawyer and DPO, she specializes in navigating high-stakes regulatory frameworks, including NIST, GDPR, and the EU AI Act. Rather than treating compliance as a box-ticking exercise, Annick focuses on managing human cyber risk and building security programs that support business growth.

She is a recognized voice on the intersection of law and technology, recently winning the 2024 GRC Head of Legal of the Year award and receiving a nomination for the 2025 Legal in Cyber award at the National Cyber Awards and a nomination for Female Security Professional of the Year, 2026 at the UK OSPAs.
